Daffodils in Brittany

Thursday 24/02/22

We've settled into our Brittany-routine with a mix of garden and indoor work, as dictated by the winter weather.

We split up for a while for quick trips back to the UK to help Charmaine move house (which was successful),  and its been nice to get back to the slower, French life that we are lucky enough to enjoy here.

The highlight of this particular time of year has to be the stunning display of daffodils; the owners have so many of them and so many variations - they are  simply glorious!  We've been lucky this year in that they only started flowering after the storms that have just swept through so many of them are still standing - a stunning display.

We know this means the Irises will soon follow as the garden start to prepare for spring.  What a privilege to be able to enjoy this spectacle.

Of course, now that this is an award-winning garden, we feel additional pressure to keep up the standards.  We've already planted 200 onion and shallot sets and are chitting potatoes which will be next to go in.  It's not all relaxing and looking at the flowers, you know. 😉

We really do love this place!
