Montville

Bokkie all nostalgic, back in the aire where we spent our first night in France in November (read it here).  We were very green on that trip and were traumatised by the bridge at the entrance which indicates the height as 2.6m and Bokkie stands at 3.0m in a low crouch.  Luckily the centre was high enough and we fitted through but was certainly a shock at the time.

Bokkie's hiding behind the trees
We were up at 2:30 this morning to get in the queue for the 4am ferry only to be told it was running 40 minutes late.  They offered us an alternative to Dunkirk instead of Calais, a bit further to drive on the French side but we went for it.  The crossing was the roughest we have had so far, and we were both quite woozy by the end and relieved to be on solid ground again.  We drove for a couple of hours before trying to get some sleep along the way - not very successfully.

Noisy neighbours
We decided it would be too far to drive to Hornfleur, one of our possible stops, so we rather headed to Montville.  It is a lovely town and we have walked to the railway station and will try to take the train to Rouen tomorrow.

We even popped into the municipal swimming pool this afternoon and had a swim.  Lovely!
