Biyamiti drive

 Wednesday 08/12/21

Although there wasn't an abundance of animals on the drive this morning, they made up for it with the quality of sightings.  We were out for about 5 hours including a stop at Afsaal picnic spot for brunch, and are now spending some time enjoying the camp (and Toni's practising her roosterkoek recipe).

Common Duiker

Sometimes you need to wait while there are zebra crossing...

and sometimes you just need to slow to the speed of giraffe walking.

Long-tailed Paradise Whydah

Really sad to see a Rhino with it's horn removed but hopefully it will save it's life.

Baby rhino, probably weighs as much as our car.

Three Klipspringer perched on a rock

There is so much life going on in the camp and we can basically do our game watching from the comfort of our porch.

Yet again, we have a Monitor Lizard in our grass.

To get an idea of the scale; the Monitor lizard is on the ground behind the Bushbuck which is about
the size of a Labrador.

We even have some bats keeping an eye on us from above.
