Satara Rest Camp

 Saturday 04/12/21

We had an afternoon drive yesterday and were somewhat relieved when it cooled a little overnight.

We were up at 4am this morning to tackle the drive north to Satara while it was still relatively cool and were rewarded with some lovely sightings.

It is piping hot again today, but luckily there is a small swimming pool in the camp.  Even though the water is almost at body temperature, a quick dip did cool us down a bit.

Getting out early had its rewards, we were the second car to these lions, normally there is a scrum

I was getting nervous at the looks I was getting from this one...

This baby hyena was intrigued by the leaves, for some reason

Bonus pics:  In Kruger, even the trees have right-of-way

When it's hot in Africa and you are a giraffe, you need a really tall umbrella.
