Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp

 Thursday 02/12/21

We've finally arrived in Kruger Park, one of our favourite places on earth, after a gap of seven years since our last visit.

What a welcome to Kruger, right outside our hut.

The drive up was tiring; our plan was to take a leisurely drive up over four days but various factors: fatigue, shock at the state of the roads and towns, the heat and the Covid situation in Gauteng made us rethink and modify our route somewhat.  We booked in to Kruger a day earlier than planned and cut out the northern-most leg of the trip and made a bee-line for the park.

All I am going to say is there was more than one banded mongoose

Rather a guilty look from this one

We're hugely relieved to be here, it really is a special place.  We'll try and post some pics whenever we have some broadband but mostly we're going to relax and enjoy the park for the next 11 days.

It is sweltering, over 35C, wind-still and humid, so it really saps one's energy but, even though we haven't ventured into the park for a drive, we have already been treated to some fantastic sightings.
