Nieul

Tuesday 04/06/19

Bokkie has hit the road again and travelled 100 miles north in the French heat, the temperature reached the high twenties today, but tomorrow has a high of only 14 forecast so we are enjoying the quick heat.

We loved the house sit, it was great to have a flying visit from Charmaine and the house and pets were a dream.  The weather also worked out, cold and miserable while Charmaine had to study (😉) and then hot enough that we could relax by the pool once she had left - sorry hon!

She finished her exams today, a huge relief for all of us, we can only imagine how she is feeling.

One of the prettiest fishing spots we've seen so far
The lake in the gardens of Chateau de Nieul

Chateau de Nieul (just to prove we walked around the lake)

We travelled up the A20 for a large chunk of the day, boring dual carriageway, but it allowed us to chew up a few miles on our way to Loire valley.  We have some distance to cover but we were both quite tired as we had a late night waiting for the owners to return last night.

We'd like to put some distance on again tomorrow so are hoping the forecast rain isn't too heavy. We're due back in the UK in about two weeks' time, so want to spend our final days in France travelling down the Loire valley, on our way to meet the ferry in Brittany.
