Pobeña

Monday 18/03/19

Our routine doesn't make for very interesting blogging at the moment as our days consist of:-

  1. Drive for the morning, slack-jawed at the amazing scenery
  2. Find somewhere to stop and walk around the area
  3. Dodge rain showers when possible and plan for more of the same the next day.
We're still making our way towards Nice but have had a change in plan; instead of crossing over to France at Irun we have decided to stay in Spain a while longer and visit Pamplona before making our way into France.

We'll let the pictures provide the narrative.

Glimpses of snowy peaks through the clouds

Abnormal load hogging the lanes through a tunnel

Instead of digging a big hole to quarry for rocks and sand the Basques simply
dismantle their mountains.  The scale of it was very impressive.

Can you spot the goat?

Looks like the wind usually blows here

Hopefully the rain will start to ease as we move back inland.  It is very lush and beautiful here but we miss the sunshine.
