East Fleet farm, Weymouth

 Sunday 03/05/21

Driving through the rolling hills of Dorset

Holiday traffic, not much in our direction (they're all stuck behind Bokkie)

The sheep appear to be clinging on to the hillside

We left quite early this morning before the storm hit the Devon coast and scuttled Eastward ahead of it.  We're battened down on a lovely campsite just outside Weymouth.  We're on the banks of the East Fleet lagoon which is separated from the sea by Chesil beach, an 18 mile long shingle beach.  Apparently the 'Bouncing Bomb' of Dambusters fame was first tested in this area.

The campsite nestled amongst the hill with Chesil beach just beyond the lagoon

We're being lashed by the wind which is still building up to it's peak later tonight so Bokkie is rocking and rolling.  The mobile signal, as in many rural areas in the UK, is very weak so we're not sure how regularly we'll be able to blog from here.

We're looking forward to some long walks along the coast, but only once this storm has passed.  For now, we're enjoying being inside looking out, rather than outside, wishing we were in!
