Domaine de la Bergerie, Vence

Saturday 06/04/19

Although the weather didn't really play ball, we had a lovely time with Charmaine and Chris and we hired a car on the Thursday to visit St Tropez (disappointment) and Bormes-les-Mimosas which was wonderful, and much more to our liking.

On Friday we packed everything up and all headed back to Nice in Bokkie, amazed to see how much more snow was on the mountains after the storms of the week.  We tested our new Uber app and organised a lift to the airport for Charmaine and Chris with no fuss.  Now it's just the two of us heading off again - and we already miss them, but will see them again after the exams.

We've had two recommendations to visit Vence, so headed to a nearby campsite as the weekend weather has loads of rain forecast.  We have picked a well-draining, sloping spot with no trees overhead to sit out the rain.  This morning we hiked into Vence, which is a lovely historic village with wonderful artworks and interesting shops, very much our thing.  It's every bit as beautiful and interesting as we were told, and we spent a couple of hours walking around and admiring all the quaint streets and places.

Would you want to see these two in your doorway at night?

The 'Chat Noir' shop in Vence - so many things cat related!

The campsite is huge, very empty and lovely and quiet; the perfect place to sit out the impending storm.
