Near Issigeac

Friday 12/04/19

We are at our house-sitting location at the moment, near the medieval village of Issigeac but we don't want to give the exact location out of respect of the owner's privacy.

We had a relatively short drive today, made somewhat further by a detour of around 10 km around the final village before we had to turn of the regional road, Murphy's Law.  It sent us into the countryside on an ever-narrowing country road for a huge circle to arrive back at a point 500m from where we set off.  Anyway, once completed we had a quick look at Issigeac (it looks lovely) before meeting the owners of the house-sit.  We'll be back on Sunday for the famous market.

We found the perfect place to stop for lunch, until we realised the adjacent school
was about to start an Easter egg hunt and we would be trapped - we scarpered!
Issigeac looks lovely.

The property is amazing and we are looking forward to looking after it and the animals for a week.  Bokkie will get some well-earned rest and pampering as I need to spend some time on the fridge which sometimes gives trouble setting onto gas, as well as a light fitting that is giving trouble.

It's going to be nice to sleep in a proper bed and have four walls around us for a week.  A shower without a push-button - Bliss!

We've met all the animals and Toni has even had time to get to know the neighbour's chickens.  We will post some pics during the week but probably won't blog for a couple of days.
