Seldom has so much been promised and so little delivered!

Today's drive took us into a ravine with viewpoints offering us panoramic views of Millau and France's tallest viaduct, the Millau viaduct [View website here].

At about 750m the French got tired of building their road up the mountain so they tunnelled through the last bit

The visibility gradually worsened
As we climbed up from Lodeve we could see we would be in cloud but once over the top it cleared up in patches and as we approached Millau we could see we had not picked the right day for such a scenic drive.

Descending towards Millau, doesn't look good.

Stunning views of Millau and viaduct  😖
We will have to try and return another day as the town and views looked really nice, going down the mountain pass in 10m visibility was a bit hairy though.  Soon afterwards it cleared up nicely and we travelled over hill and dale through the French countryside.  We are in an aire in a pretty agricultural town and we found a laundry so did a quick wash and dry to make sure we are ready for the week's sit.

Passing giant wind turbines

The French countryside at it's best

It's not all sunshine here - yes we did get rained on...
