Near Sarzeau

Friday 12/06/20

Yes, after eight months near Noyal, Bokkie has gathered up all her belongings and hit the road again.

B&T weren't joking when they said the pitches are so big you can set up a badminton game on them.

B&T, the house owners, getting nervous that yet another Brittany ferry trip would be cancelled, booked a chunnel trip and took the long way around, arriving late on 6 June.

We have spent almost a week together, handing over the property and helping in the garden.  We had a minor scare when, two days before we were due to leave, Jasper tore a 3 cm cut in his chest and had to be taken to the vet.  Thank goodness it wasn't more serious and a few stitches and an overnight vet stay sorted him out.

This morning we packed our last few items, said our goodbyes (which was very hard), and headed to Lidl to stock up for travelling.  We then took a relatively short drive to the campsite recommended by B&T for us to find our feet and re-adjust to living in a small space.

We've taken a cycle to nearby St Jacques to see the sea and, as the area has plenty to explore we'll settle down for a few days before heading off to travel around the rest of the Brittany coast.

We're also waiting to see what happens with the UK quarantine rules so that we can avoid it if possible; therefore we have given ourselves a few weeks' holiday.  Things seems quiet in France at the moment with few tourists, which makes it an ideal time to explore.

We have been having some real storms in the area, you can see a twister forming in the distance in this photo.
