Quiberon relocation

Tuesday 16/06/20

Can you spot Bokkie, the lonely l'anglais motorhome?

We were again woken by a heavy downpour; the weather is really unsettled at the moment.  As promised, we popped back to the menhirs for some quick photos and were treated to some dramatic views of the storm that had just passed.

This was the storm that drenched the area while we were eating breakfast.

We decided we wanted to explore Quiberon some more before moving on so, not wanting to overstay our welcome in the parking lot, we relocated to a paid aire on the Atlantic side.  From there we took a drizzly cycle all around the Southern coast of Quiberon, the fantastic views making up for the weather.

Port Haliguen

The lovely Le Château Turpault

By the time we were ready for our lunch it was starting to clear and we stopped at the Point du Conguel, the narrow point jutting out into the sea.  It was a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the sunshine.  The tranquil sea on this side of the coast is quite different to the more turbulent affair where Bokkie is parked.  We are the only non-French motorhome (at least that we've seen) since leaving Noyal even though the borders have opened.  It is quite nice that we are getting to enjoy some of the top tourist sights before the masses arrive; I would imagine it must get very busy on this narrow strip of prime holiday real estate in season.

Perfect place to enjoy a packed lunch!

Apparently someone though it was invited as well...

Later in the afternoon we took another walk along the cliffs, lovely sunshine most of the time but the wind coming off the sea is quite biting.

Tomorrow we'll move on.  We're definitely starting to get used to being nomads again.... at least for now.
