Near Sarzeau

Sunday 14/06/2020

Bokkie is still in the same campsite getting used to being a house again.  The weather isn't really playing ball as it is very unsettled, with heavy showers moving through the area.

A rare 'selfie'

Yesterday we cycled into Sarzeau and back, a fairly easy ride as there are so many cycle paths around.  It was quite busy; the only sign of a post Covid-19 world is the fact that around half the people wear face-masks.

Today we cycled to nearby Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys, as they have a Sunday market on.  It was fairly busy (again, everybody seemed very relaxed and enjoying themselves - only the face-masks that were obligatory in the market attesting to the fact that we are still not over the pandemic), so we had a leisurely walk-around and then cycled to the coast and back to the campsite via Saint-Jacques.  We packed a lunch as well, and it was glorious to have our picnic on the beach, enjoying the sunshine and sea.

We had ambitions of cycling the entire peninsula, but the unsettled weather and the fact that we aren't very cycle-fit yet put paid to that plan.  We made it back in time to miss a heavy shower coming through - and spent the afternoon relaxing and planning some travel dates.

Our trusty steeds - both 20 years old but still going strong!
Tomorrow we'll move on, we need to call back 'home' to pick up some post we missed and will then find somewhere to stop along the coast.
