Raguénez

Thursday 18/06/20

It rained most of the afternoon yesterday, so when it stopped briefly at 19:00 we took the opportunity for another walk.  We went to another of the alignments, Kermario, a little further from the campsite.  It had quite a few larger stones and we walked around the display in wonder; when? why? and how? - questions we'll probably never have answers to.

Heavy bursts of rain throughout the night and an intruding mosquito made for a rather unpleasant night's sleep for both of us, so we were ready to leave our site quite early.

We made for Pont-Aven, reputed to be the most beautiful village in Brittany, with very strong connections to art; Paul Gauguin famously lived here at one stage.  It is packed with galleries and stunnings vistas, really a lovely place to visit.

The cutest public loos we have ever seen.

The aire, however, was decidedly ordinary so we agreed to press on to our next stop, a free aire overlooking the Atlantic and Raguénez island.

The wind has been gusting all afternoon, but we went for a lovely long walk along the coastal pathway which was just what we needed.

Unfortunately some of the enjoyment is always lost when we see that look on Flaffie's face when we don't take him with us. 😃
