We had a terrible night with Bokkie rocking and rolling in the most horrendous wind gusts until after 1am. (Toni: I felt at times that the van was going to tip over, the wind was so strong!). Fortunately the weather forecast was accurate and it was calmer in the morning, so we took the chance to visit the hide again.

We got moving slightly later than usual because we had such a disrupted night and so didn't travel too far.  We are in a municipal Aire in the centre of El Grao de Castellón which is quite cramped and busy but beautifully located.

We are almost right on a beach stretching 2.5km and close to the town.  As usual they have fantastic biking routes and we went for a long cycle and long walk along the beach.  The sand is proper sand and very fine, much easier than the fine pebbles we had at Pineda.  Lovely to walk on and great to get our feet wet again.  We will probably stay another day before hopping around Valencia as you can stay for 48 hours in this Aire and there is more to see tomorrow.  All the services here are free, and well set up, so ideal for motor-homers.

Camping in a parking lot along the beach, tolerated in winter.
