It was quite rowdy last night as the sports facilities opposite us are very active in the evening, five-a-side and baseball hoops clanging but we are so tired in the evenings we sleep very well.  The Hymer bed is really amazing - or maybe it's just being active the whole day....

We were up early and went out to catch the sunrise after breakfast.

We then unstrapped the bikes, packed a few snacks and a flask for coffee and set off.  We cycled along the beach track for 11km to Benicassim which was lovely, definitely somewhere we could see us staying for a while (if that was an option).  The council really seems to put a lot of effort into keeping it neat and tidy, even in the off-season.  The entire route was along dedicated cycle track along beach after beach which really made the whole cycle trip a pleasure.

The area is full of intriguing art work

A sand dragon....!

Look at the size of that mosquito on the wall!

The ride back felt like it was uphill the whole way as we were going into the breeze but it felt good to test our legs on a longer route.  We are both a bit saddle-sore, though.  It will take a while to work out years of sedentary office work, but we are determined to remain active as we are seeing many motor-homers who are rather large.  It's probably due to having all your food and snacks within easy reach :-).

We still had enough energy to walk on the beach and later through the village on the way to do some shopping.  We are taking great delight in sampling some of the Spanish food in the shops, and just looking at all the different produce.  It's also sometimes a gamble as to what we are actually buying as our Spanish is very limited, but that's part of the fun of being here.

There is also a nice marina and waterfront area around town; this place must be really popular in season - but like all the coastal towns so far it seems very seasonal, with many of the restaurants and shops shut for winter.  It does give the place a slightly sleepy air, as though everyone has gone into hibernation.

Tomorrow we will hop around Valencia and then decide on the way where to head next.  It's time to get Bokkie on the road again!
