Our new spot by the beach

We were woken up in the night by an unexpected gusty wind shaking and rattling Bokkie.  Because of the broken night, we then slept in until 0730, quite unusual for us.  It wasn't a problem as we wanted to call in at a business near Lorca to refill our LPG and fill and empty all our tanks, because we had been off grid for a few days.  We left, somewhat grudgingly, as it really was an idyllic spot but have to keep moving south - much like migrating birds!

Again, the changing scenery along the route was wonderful.

As we approached the village we wanted to stay in we were treated with views of Mojácar, an ancient mountaintop village with traditional whitewashed buildings.  We want to go and have closer look tomorrow - preferably on the bikes, as it's a nice and hilly drive so should be good exercise.

The area we are in now is a delight, we are parked right up against the beach and are hoping we don't get a knock on the door to move us on.  The local Gardia are quite strict on where you can park overnight but are apparently more tolerant out of season.  We have wall to wall sea views.

We've explored the local area by bike and by foot and it is lovely.  The Med is showing the first signs of life, all the beaches so far were quite sterile which is sad but this has some sea urchins and sea plants growing.  The water feels lovely but I haven't been brave enough to swim yet.

Whitewashed development behind our sleepy spot.

There are masses of holiday flats and hotels

Judging by the rate the developments are going up business seems to be booming here

Fishermen returning to the harbour before sundown

Lots to explore so we may stay another day if we don't get moved on.
